The Centre for Internet Technologies is the research group of the Internet Technology Sub Area of the School of Computing & Technology. We are active in a number of research areas, such as Research Information Management and e-Commerce and Agent Technologies. Our research activities are funded jointly by the University and by other funding bodies, such as the European Commission, European Structured Funds, the UK Government Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) and other initiatives.

We are currently active in 3 projects (C4D, IRIOS-2 and RMAS) and are collaborating with 7 project partners from 1 country. Formerly the Centre for Electronic Commerce Research & Development, CIT has an established track record of leading and participating in research and technological development (RTD) projects from 1997 to the current day, working with over 70 project partners on 16 projects prior to the incorporation of CEC R&D into the Centre for Internet Technologies in 2005.

Our research activities have resulted in a number of publications, details of which are available on our publications page. We currently have 68 publications in journals, periodicals and conferences.

We currently have 22 members of staff who are working either full time or part time on research projects and activities in the centre.
